Its your home’s Grand Opening! Why can’t I see it?

Its the grand opening for your Kansas City home – why are you declining my showing?

Kansas City home seller has declined showing

Somehow folks with a home for sale in Kansas City need to find a reasonable middle area to be able to sell their homes.

One of my showings for today of a home for sale in Olathe was declined. Why? The carpet cleaners are coming. The house has been on the market for less than a week. If the carpet needed to be cleaned so badly, why not do that BEFORE putting your house on the market? Granted, I am a bit upset. Its called “home staging” folks. You do it BEFORE, not during.

Does Nordstroms turn away business during a grand opening of a store to organize and clean? No, of course not.

Does KMart close in the middle of the day to set up the blue lights for their blue light special? No, of course not.

So why, with a retail product of ONE HOUSE, when there are literally hundreds of others to see, should you close (decline my showing) Mr. and Mrs. Seller? Frankly, you should not.

It takes a lot of time and effort on the part of my home buyer clients to coordinate everyone’s schedule to go see homes. I would appreciate it if more home sellers would see it that way.

Would I rather reschedule vs seeing another home with problems like another post of mine? Well, yes I would. Homes with those problems won’t get second showings anyway.

Thanks for listening.
