Ken Jansen CRS | Find a CRS

Looking for the best? Hire a CRS! Certified Residential Specialist or CRS is the most difficult designation offered by the National Association of Realtors. Only 3-4% of Realtors have earned the CRS designation.

You ask, Ken, why would I even care about that? What does that mean for me? What do I get out of hiring a CRS? What is the benefit to me?

  • You have an objective verification of sucessful experience. Speaking of verification, sadly there are some who advertise as having a CRS, but, ah, they are not. Verify at this link https://find.crs.com To qualify to apply for a CRS designation, a Realtor has to verify they were in charge of a verified minimum number of transactions. A CRS is not a random agent, but rather an independently certified expert.
  • A CRS undergoes rigorous training (see below) from other CRS designees who are also CRS approved instructors. These instructors are field trained, real life experience, most are still actively selling, and the instructors have to pass the stringent training requirements.
    • To quote Will Smith’s character in Men in Black II ‘ The Best of the Best of the Best, Sir!’
  • I have training and ideas from around the country from top agents. I put the best of those ideas to work for you, to benefit you.
  • Are you relocating to or from Kansas City or Johnson County? As a CRS, I have exclusive access to the CRS nationwide network. I can help you find an agent who is a good match for you if you are moving out of town. Or I can be the Johnson County Area Expert you need when moving to Johnson County Kansas.

Only 3-4% of Realtors in the US have earned it. Why is that? A Realtor has to have a minimum number of closed transactions where the Realtor was either wholly responsible or who was the major portion of responsible for their ‘side’ of the transaction, either buying side or selling side. This minimum number has to be verified and signed by their responsible supervising broker. Then the list is reverified by the RRC, Residential Real Estate Council.

My Training, specifically, was 6 full days in Atlantic City at a major training event. 3 courses, each 2 full days. What made this training specifically incredible is that the conference room was divided into tables with 10-11 seats per table. The instructor would discuss a topic in detail. Then the table would brain storm for ten minutes and compile our best ideas. What was unique about this experience is that in many classes only the instructor shares ideas, because everyone else in the room is sitting next to their competitors and they don’t want to share very much. Entrepreneurs, like myself, are pretty competitive. The only way to ‘win’ at the table was to bring out your *very best* material, to share. Our table’s info was excellent. Now, after the 10 minute table brainstorming session we had time to absorb all the other tables best ideas as well. So every hour or so, I was getting access to and recording the best ideas of 600ish top agents from the East side of the US. There were 2 conferences that year. One in Atlantic City and the other in Las Vegas. Amazing ideas.
